I’m Steve.
and I've always found "that'll do" genuinely difficult to accept.
I spent 18 years in the RAF. Squadron Leader, eventually, though I'll be honest, the rank was never the part that mattered to me. What mattered was the way things got done. Process. Accountability. Checking your work. Taking responsibility when something wasn't right rather than finding a reason why it wasn't your fault.

You don't leave that behind when you leave the service. You just find somewhere else to apply it.
I retrained as a plumber because I liked the idea of building something myself, of getting out what I put in, and because having done work experience and worked alongside other tradespeople, I was fairly confident I could do it better than what I'd seen. That's not arrogance, just an honest read of the gap between the standard the industry was setting and the standard I knew was possible.
Ten years in, over a thousand customers, and almost all of it built on word of mouth, I still think I was right.

Most trades businesses describe themselves as professional, reliable, quality-focused. So we won't. Here's what those words actually look like in practice.

EVERY QUOTE IS ITEMISED. EVERY ONE.
Labour and materials, separated out, line by line. Not because we enjoy admin, because you deserve to know what you're paying for before you commit to anything. If the job takes less time than expected, we adjust the invoice accordingly.

WE INVEST IN KNOWING WHAT WE'RE DOING.
Worcester Bosch Accredited Installer. Ideal Boilers Max Accredited. F-Gas registered for air conditioning. G3 qualified for unvented hot water. Low Temperature Heating Design. Heat Pump Installer qualification. City and Guilds. Gas Safe registered since day one.
That's not a badge collection, it's what it looks like when a team takes the job seriously enough to keep learning.
We invest in our training because the industry moves and we intend to move with it.

WE TELL YOU WHAT WE WON'T DO.
There are things we don't cover, underground drainage, full bathroom suites, we'd rather tell you upfront than take a job we can't do justice to. If you need something outside our scope, we'll say so clearly and point you in the right direction.

WE COMMUNICATE. EVEN WHEN IT'S INCONVENIENT.
Running late? We'll tell you, and share our location so you're not just waiting and wondering. Found something unexpected on the job? We'll explain what it is, what it means, and what your options are before we do anything. Something went wrong? You'll hear from us before you have to come looking.
Communication isn't a customer service add-on. It's just how work should go.

Twenty-eight years of discipline, problem-solving and doing things right, eighteen in the RAF, ten in plumbing. Started this business because he believed there was a better way to run a trades company. The belief hasn't changed.

Aaron joined Lincolnshire Plumbing and, fairly quickly, became exactly the kind of engineer we hoped he'd be. He double checks his work, he communicates with customers, he cares whether the job was done properly.

Tom
APPRENTICE ENGINEER
Tom is learning the trade the way it should be learned, hands on, with proper supervision, and with the same standards applied from day one that get applied on every job. He's not left to figure things out alone. That's not how we do it.

Kerry keeps everything running behind the scenes, and if you've ever had a smooth experience booking in or following up on something, there's a fair chance Kerry is the reason why.

WHERE WE WORK
Local,
actually local.
We're based in Nettleham and we work across the surrounding villages - Welton, Sudbrooke, Reepham, Cherry Willingham, Burton, Skellingthorpe and beyond.
This isn't a call centre operation dispatching engineers from a depot two counties away. When you ring, you're talking to us, when we say we'll be there at nine, we mean nine, and when the job's done, we're still local, which means still reachable, still accountable, still around if anything needs following up.
We've built this business in this community, on the reputation of every single job, and we’re beyond proud of that.

The stuff
that matters.
We're not the biggest company in Lincolnshire, we don't want to be. We're not the cheapest, either and we know why.
We’re consistent. The standard on job nine hundred and fifty was the same as the standard on job one. The standard all team members work to is the same. The standard on a boiler service is the same as the standard on a full heating installation. That consistency matters to us as much as it matters to you.
